VAGABOND LODGE AT KICKING HORSE, Golden

Vagabond Lodge is an adult-only boutique inn. All rooms are on the top floor and feature en suite bathrooms. Bathrooms include a shower tub enclosure, heated floors, bathrobes and hair dryers. Rooms are equipped with queen-size beds featuring feather-rest tops with duvets. Certain units include a seating area.

A healthy breakfast is included, featuring Lori's freshly baked fruit scones, fruit pancakes, freshly baked bread, hot and cold cereals, farm-fresh eggs, and homemade yogurt. The lodge has a spacious common area with a large wood-burning fireplace and billiards. There is a TV room on the lower level.

Vagabond Lodge offers a hot tub and ski-to-door access. Activities near the lodge include white water rafting, horseback riding, snowboarding, and skiing. This accommodation is a 10-minute drive from the town of Golden. Look for a large IGA sign on the left and a large sign above the road that says Kicking Horse Mountain Resort. It's an easy drive to Banff, Yoho, Kootenay and Glacier National Parks, as well as Lake Louise. In the Golden area, you can spot elk, deer, even bears crossing the river. Hikes include Yoho's Ice-line Trail and Gorman Lake, as well as the ridge hikes at Kicking Horse Resort. To climb Yoho's Ice-line Trail, you will cross a railway track and a 1-way bridge. Rider Express bus service between Calgary and Vancouver stops in Golden.
